Depression

Depression is common amongst adults and children and often begins very subtly so you might not even notice that anything is wrong. Over time you may start to realise that you are not the same person as you were a few months or years ago.

Depression can range from having a few mild symptoms to feeling totally dysfunctional.

Depression is very treatable with hypnotherapy and I can teach you how to make positive lifelong changes. Hypnosis is a very calming and deeply relaxing treatment for your mind and body.

Hypnosis can help you to identify the causes of the depression and I can help you recognise any patterns of negativity and show you how to replace them with more useful, positive ones. I can help you learn how to bring relief from your symptoms and enable you to change your life in the way that is right for you.

This is a list of the most common symptoms of depression:

  • Sadness
  • Feeling hopeless
  • Low self esteem and confidence
  • Tearful
  • Irritability
  • Anxiety
  • Self harm
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Unexplained aches and pains
  • Neglecting your hobbies
  • Lethargic
  • Avoiding social activities
  • Poor performance at school/college/work
  • Spending a lot of time alone
  • Low sex drive

Depressive disorders come in many different types and although there are some similarities, each type of depression has a unique set of symptoms.

Major depressive disorder, postnatal depression, dysthymic disorder, seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and low mood can be treated with hypnotherapy.

You are very welcome to call or email me if you are unsure about your symptoms. It is always a good idea to have a chat with your GP to rule out any underlying causes. Never come off medication for depression without support from your GP. The work we do together is complementary, not a replacement for medical care.
